Introducing the Wind Warrior RC Yacht
The Wind Warrior G3 is a face-lift version of the extremely popular Wind Warrior mk2 of which over 1000 were built. The G3 hull is from the original mk2 mould but with a straighter sheerline and a shorter, more race styled, coachroof.
The displacement, ballast, draft, rig and sails are also identical to the previous model to retain the class integrity but several new features make the boat even more versatile, practical, rugged and consistent than ever before.
New Features
Removable keel
The keel-fin now locates precisely into a slot in the hull and is retained with a single screw. This is the most significant change with the G3 and, along with a removable section of the mast, enables storage in the new carry case.
Glass-reinforced Nylon Fittings
Several rig and deck fittings are now injection moulded from a die made specifically for the Wind Warrior. The strength and shapes of these parts are far more consistent and precise than possible with handmade parts.
This moulding technique has also enabled production of a stylish new display stand featuring fibreglass tubes supporting the hull on injection moulded cradle-arms and a removable section of mast to reduce packaged size.
Carry Case
The new features are specifically aimed at giving the G3 the amazing new portability and protection of its new fabric carrycase, fitted with a Pro-cell foam block with cut-out sections for the keel, rudder, hull, spars, transmitter and stand. The sails lay flat in a folder inside the case lid. The case measures only 180 x 280 x 805mm and weighs less than 5kg making it simple and cheap to travel with or freight anywhere in the world. The G3 takes only a few minutes to assemble ready to sail
Improved hatch Design
A notable feature of the Wind Warrior has always been the quick fit hatch with channelling system for preventing water ingress. The new hatch features a tighter fit, even more effective water channelling and a more positive, simpler magnetic catch.
The G3, with all its new features and proven base design, continues to set the standard for one-design radio yachts
