2010 Laser Worlds – Day 1

The practice race for the 2010 Laser Worlds was cancelled due to strong winds and terrible weather. The bar was also too dangerous to get through so it was decided that all sailors would stay onshore – however some still toughed it out and went onto the race course area (but are very sore today!)
Everyone is currently on the race course with both Juniors and Seniors competing in Race 1 and 2.
Results will be posted on the Race Website and you can also follow the Twitter updates.
The weather is absolutely perfect now – a far cry from yesterday. Everyone launched in 14 knots of breeze with the sun shining. There wasn’t a cloud in the English sky! This afternoon the breeze has died off making it quite challenging for not only the sailors but for the mark layers and race officers.
We are following the Aussies and especially Jared West, Ryan Stoddart, Klade Hauschildt and Ryan Palk.
More to come!
Photos will be upload to SailingPhotos.net soon…
