Etchells get SLAMMED by SLAM

Italian clothing brand SLAM has made their presence felt after being the major apparel sponsor for Etchells in Australia and around the world.

Currently sponsoring the 2008 Audi Etchells Australian Championship as the major clothing supplier, SLAM adds this to the extensive line up of regattas they are partnered with in association with Etchells.

Since emerging onto the Australian sailing scene 18 months ago, SLAM has joined forces with some of the best sailors in the country. Skip Lissiman, former America’s Cup champion and current Australian Etchells Champion is proudly “SLAMMED” with the latest technical one design range of clothing.

The unique Italian flare the extensive range carries, including technically enhanced materials ensure each and every sailor is not only comfortable when they hit the water, but looks the part as well.

Brisbane Etchells sailor and local retailer Jason Muir stands by the range and offers extensive stock in his chandlery Muir Marine.

The RC Smock Top and Long John, T-Shirt Bristow and Spray Shorts as well as the stylish PFD Buoyancy Vests are popular amongst not only the Etchells sailors but throughout the sailing community.

Australian SLAM distributor Jack Young says that since entering the sailing scene down under, there hasn’t been a moment of rest.

“It’s been a hectic 18 months! The clothing is very well received because it does offer that Italian difference giving us a strong advantage within the market. The prices are fair and because of that we see no signs of things slowing down in the future,” said Young whilst on location at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron as major clothing sponsor of the 2008 Audi Etchells Australian Championship.
