Grounded…
December 30th, 2007

We are currently running two Australian Championships (Cherubs and Taipans) with another two due to start on the 2nd January (Contenders and 16′ Skiffs).
We are a few days in for both regattas.
No results…
We are getting absolutely slammed by intense breeze which is caused by this massive low of the coast of Fraser Island.
It’s a frustrating feeling not being able to get any races in for the competitors who have driven for miles and miles to get here. But it’s totally out of our hands. Mother Nature (the indecisive lunatic), has decided to throw some pretty horrid weather our way.
But we are not the only ones suffering.
The A Class Aussie Champs are also grounded meaning this year could mean a total wipe out for a handful of classes.
The most annoying thing is that two weeks ago we ran two regattas and those were almost a nothing because there was only a whisper of breeze…
Has this ever happened to you? Have you traveled to a regatta but haven’t been able to get a race in due to too much wind, or not enough?
The outlook for the next few days doesn’t look promising… We may not be able to hold any racing until well into 2008…
