Would you PAY to sail a BIG BOAT?
Big Boats out of Sydney are currently pimping themselves on eBay giving eager bidders a chance for the “UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY” of sailing on boats such as Wild Oats XI, Ichi Ban, Skandia and Andrew Short Marina Brindabella.
Sure it’s for a good cause, but would you bid on eBay to sail one of these yachts?
They are probably some of the “best” yachts in Australia because of their high profile owners, the fact they sail in Sydney and on Sydney Harbour, but would you pay over $1,350.00 for the opportunity (current bid on Wild Oats XI as of 1945 hours Brisbane time).

Bids are also open “to fire the 19th century replica cannon – the same cannon used to start the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race each year – to send the expected fleet of up to 20 maxis and pocket maxi yachts off on the 14 nautical mile course around Sydney Harbour at 12.30pm on Tuesday 11 December 2007 for the start the SOLAS Big Boat Challenge.”
