i think you have to have more than like four boats to have a fleet alex!! (or a standard)

plus there were two boats who are former open national champs and two boats who are former junior nat champs...

dam good standard if you ask me....

Firstly, the 125 is a family class so where does it take you? it takes you from having a basic understanding of how to sail to being able to handle a boat (spinnaker included) in most weather conditions. Many 125 sailors have gone on to compete (and do very well) in other classes. the 125 is not aimed at the international regatta level sailors, it is an intermediate level dingy!
As for your so called lack of competition in the 125's, you obviously havent been to a 125 nationals or states and seen how close the competition is in all secions of the fleet!

As for the point difference, how difficult is to come second by 1 point in a 3 boat fleet?

Besides, who wants to sail a bath tub with sails? I would much rather sail a 'slow' 125 and have a lot of fun!

there were 4 420s at sail brisbane !!! and one went down to sirs and is in the top 5. And we were 2nd to them by 1 point so that shows s the close comp we have in qld even if there isnt a large fleet.
And the International 420 is a lot harder boat to make go fast 29er is tune and forget!!!

29ers are so lame i dont sail 125s or 29ers but i bet you get more 125s in one family than you get 29ers at a nationals who sails them.
