I wanna be like my hero

Everyone has a sailing hero or someone they aspire to be or follow in the footsteps of.

Who is your hero? Who would you pick as being the yachtsman/women who inspires you the most.

Russell Coutts always seems to be at the top of the list, however I think John Bertrand would have to be up there as well. But then you have the sportsboat guys… They are true legends in their own lunchbox, however I am sure someone else thinks they rock as well.

But my pick for the most inspirational? That would have to be my Dad. Almost 60, had a pretty hard life and now racing and training like a maniac. He doesn’t always win (actually, he never really wins at all), however he is the only one who gets out there each and every week with one focus his goal. To win a Laser Cube (if that doesn’t happen then he will attempt purchase one off e-bay).
