Instead of a test of human endurance, it becomes man versus woman. Do we really need gimmicks like this? What point does it prove? What's the benefit? It would be much better to have more balanced representation of both men and women on all of the boats, sailing together instead of against each other. And at any rate... have you seen how little Volvo Ocean Racers can carry... there's NO WAY any female on this planet could pack so little!!!
