With Skandia taking Line Honours in the Sydney to Mooloolaba Yacht Race, she and seven other crews are now racing towards Mackay in the Sydney to Mackay leg of the event.

The majority of yachts entered in the events are using the race(s) as a way of getting to North Queensland for both Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island Race Weeks.

I think these yachts have the right idea about racing north, where as I have opted for a more conventional method of travel.  Virgin Blue.

That’s right!  In one short week I will be boarding the plane bound for three weeks of race week fun, excitement, carry on, rampage and perhaps a little destruction!  Oh, and there will be yacht racing squeezed in there as well.

At this stage I will be posting updates daily however I obey the sailors code of ethics - “What happens on tour, stays on tour”…
