They all must sail lasers!

Check out these guys! Now that’s hard arse hiking if ever I have seen it. I reckon they must all be laser sailors because no one really ever hikes as hard as laser sailors!

This is Richard Perini’s Farr40 “Team Evolution” in Newport, Rhode Island preparing for the North American Farr40 Championship. The team is Richard Perini, Darren Jones, Rob Brown, Jason Rowed, Peter Ryan, Stan Eldershaw, Traks Gordon, Mike Dunstan, Nick Cleary and the bowman, Chris Cook. Assisting the team is Andrew Palfrey in the coachboat and Matty Day on shore. Katherine Leonard keeps the team well nourished so they can hike to capacities shown in this photo.

This is an amazing shot because it’s rare to actually see the helmsman hiking out with the crew. Normally they are inboard clutching the tiller and gazing at the sails. However due to the consistant conditions that Newport offers, the helmsman was able to join his crew meaning an additional 90kgs on the rail.

This is one of the best yachting photos I have seen in a very long time. You would have to agree with me, it does look hot!
