Fired from forum comments!
Seems that one movistar employee should have done something else with his hands and fingers when he had the thought to voice his opinion on a popular worldwide forum last Friday.
Will Van Cleef “Seppo†was fired from his position as shore rigger on the movistar team after he posted some colourful language and graphic opinions regarding regular yachts people whom do not have the privilege to be associated with the Volvo 70 fleets, but rather sail “shitboxes”.
(At least our shitboxes are affordable!)
I am not going to quote what he said (apart from that one little word above), or tell you were to find the post he submitted, but think of the world’s most popular forum and it’s somewhere in there.
It’s quite disappointing to have someone so advanced in the sport make such a spectacle of himself in a public forum viewed by hundreds a day. They are just brutal in there, and I have to admit that I am a little scared of posting anything within the forum.
The decision to fire him from the position was handed down by their management and the sponsors who refuse to have someone represent them, their team and product, who publicises graphic language in an open manner.
Would you give him a slap on the wrist and say “bad boy†or would you fire his ass and kick him out on the street. I’m thinking there is little chance he will end up on another team in the near future… I’m sure they will all be out to make a point that the kind of behaviour he displayed will not be accepted.
If you were making the decision, what would you do???
