Addiction of the luffing kind
Over the past few months I have been stretched for time and rarely have the chance to get out sailing. I did sail one day about a month ago, and jump into a Pacer from time to time when coaching teams racing and did manage to get out for a WAGS race a few days ago, but that’s been about it for say the last six months…Then yesterday out of the blue, a fellow yachting mate began discussing his new addiction. My head sharply turned and my undivided attention he gained. What ever could this new addiction be? I was worried… I was concerned… Yet as a cheeky grin emerged from his salt drenched features I knew he was not about to deluge into a story with an upsetting ending.
The new addiction was notified. The new addiction was justified. The new addiction required nothing more than a competent modem and high quality graphics card. The new addiction was VIRTUAL SKIPPER 4, a complete computer / internet based strategic sailing experience for anyone with time restraints restricting then to actually getting out there and feeling the wind in their hair.
Virtual Skipper, the ultimate regatta simulator, puts you at the helm of the world’s best sailboats in 12 different seascapes, which host the largest and most prestigious international competitions! Master direction, wind flurries and calms, and select the right sails according to the weather conditions, and show the competition you have what it takes to win your first regatta!
Like my good yachting friend, I too have contracted “VS Syndromeâ€. It is contagious so I urge you all to keep away from the website. This is where the addiction begins…
